Legoland Discovery Center To Hold Groundbreaking Ceremony In Montgomery County

50,000 legos will be poured out of a dump truck at a private event as construction launches in Montgomery County.

Legoland Discovery Center Philadelphia - which is actually based in Plymouth Meeting - is moving forward with its development.

The center will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, October 25. The groundbreaking is a private event and is not open to the public.

It will include a cinema, Lego play areas, and a “Miniland” replica of Philadelphia made out of legos.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, 50,000 Lego bricks will be poured out of a dump truck as construction launches.

The center will be located at the Plymouth Meeting Mall. It is a project run by Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT), who owns the mall.

The center is hoping to open by spring of 2017.
