Longtime Conshohocken Police Chief Retires

Chief George Metz has served the local community for 38 years.

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — It's the end of an era in Conshohocken.

Longtime police chief George Metz is retiring after 38 years of public service to the local community.

Metz began his career in the borough as a part-time patrol officer in 1985, advancing quickly to Sergeant by 1997 and lieutenant by 2014. On June 20, 2018, he was named Superintendent of Police, and he announced his retirement exactly five years later.

"Congratulations on your retirement George, and good luck in all your future endeavors," the borough shared in a statement.

The search for Conshohocken's new police chief, meanwhile, is now underway.
