Man Threatens Passerby With Knife In Conshohocken, Arrested After Standoff: Police

Authorities said the man threatened multiple people in broad daylight Tuesday before barricading himself in his apartment building.

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — A man wielding a knife and threatening passerby on the streets of Conshohocken Tuesday was arrested following a stand-off, police said.

Police have not identified the suspect beyond saying that he was a man.

The incident occurred on March 17 at 3:24 p.m. on the 400 block of Spring Mill Avenue.

Police said that he had threatened "multiple people" with the knife.

The man then entered the apartment building where he lives and refused to come out, according to authorities.

He then began throwing items from a second floor doorway and out a window onto the ground below, officials said.

The ensuing standoff was brief. Police said they then used what they called "less-lethal" measures to subdue and arrest the man.

The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. It's not clear what injuries he suffered.

Criminal charges are forthcoming.

No other injuries were reported.
