Offensive Line Key in Colonial Victories
Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Football is 6-1 approaching November.

It’s starting to come together now, the way coach Dan Chang envisioned back in mid-August.
, already matching their victory total from last year, and they’re winners of five-straight games.
“They’ve really started to come together as a group," Chang said. "They understand that however well they play, we can move the ball offensively.”

The last time Plymouth Whitemarsh played in the PIAA District 1 Class AAAA playoffs was in 2005. Chang doesn’t have to look far to find out one of the many reasons why the Colonials seem destined to break that five-year stretch. One look at the way his offensive line is playing is cause enough.
Tackles Mike Martina and Ryan Lunney, center Ryan McCormick and guards Kavon Johnson and Chas Gehringer are opening gaping holes, giving quarterback Russhon Phillips considerable time to throw.

The Colonials are averaging 27 points during their current winning streak. Chang says some of the credit has to go to his five big guys up front.
“They’re developing an attitude on the field and starting to dominate," he said. "They’re the one group that gets critiqued every play. They understand the importance of how to get better. With them playing well, that makes us a very versatile group. We’re lucky to have big bodies that can move like they can. They’re big guys that pull and move, they reach the linebackers. That’s a real advantage for me to open up what I can call.”
