PSSA Science and Writing Scores for the Colonial School District
61 percent of tested Colonial Elementary School students measured as "advanced" in science.

The 2010-2011 Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) results show that while 61 percent of tested Colonial Elementary School students are "advanced" in science, only 7.3 percent measure as "advanced" for writing skills, according to the recently released test results from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
The PSSA, which measures how well students have achieved in reading, mathematics, science and writing according to the DEP, found low writing scores across the three schools with testing students. The highest percentage of "advanced" writing students was found at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, where 27.9 percent of the 380 students tested ranked above "proficient."
In contrast, no more than .9 percent of tested students at any school scored as "below basic" in writing, while 7.8 students were found to be "below basic" in Science
