Traffic Will Increase In Norristown Area During Egypt Road Shutdown
Egypt Road will close next week for repairs. More traffic is headed Norristown's way.

Egypt Road will be shut down from July 13 through July 16 and traffic will be detoured to Black Rock Road and Route 29, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.
The work will be completed overnight from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

The ”road base repairs” are in advance of the upcoming resurfacing of seven miles of Egypt Road between Route 29 and Main Street in West Norriton later on this summer.
“Motorists are advised to allow extra time to travel through the area,” PennDOT said in a press release.

The road closure is the second announced in recent days, as 17 miles of state highway are set to be repaved in the area this summer.
