PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, PA — Local police have arrested a man they say was behind a stabbing incident at a local Wawa convenience store.

The Plymouth Township Police Department on Monday announced that they have in custody Ivan Davonte Stevens, Jr., 29, who was being sought in connection with an Oct. 8 stabbing incident at the Wawa located at 1300 E. Ridge Pike.

Patch reported last week that police were looking for Stevens, a Philadelphia resident, as a suspect in the case.

Investigators said that a physical altercation had taken place at a little before 9 in the morning between Stevens and the victim.

During the fight, Stevens stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing the area, police allege.

The victim, whose identifying information was not publicly released, ended up being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Paoli Hospital.

Authorities subsequently secured a felony arrest warrant for Stevens, and he ended up surrendering at the Plymouth Township Police Department this past Thursday.

Stevens was arraigned last Thursday evening before Magisterial District Court Judge Deborah Lukens, who set bail at $99,000 cash.

According to the Plymouth Township Police Department, a bail review hearing was held the following day, but Common Pleas Court Judge Henry S. Hilles, III, ordered that the bail amount remain the same, and Stevens was subsequently transferred to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail.

Court records show that Stevens is facing two felony counts of aggravated assault along with misdemeanor charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of an instrument of crime and terroristic threats.

Stevens does not yet appear to have an attorney in this matter.

Police did not reveal additional details in the case, such as the possible reason for the altercation that preceded the stabbing.
