3-Vehicle North Coventry Crash Leaves 1 Injured: Cops

A three-vehicle crash in North Coventry left one person injured on Monday, authorities said.

NORTH COVENTRY, PA — A three-vehicle crash in North Coventry left one person injured on Monday, authorities said.

The incident occurred on Monday, Oct. 9 at around 10:38 a.m. on Route 724, between Catfish Lane and Sheep Hill Road, police said.

Traffic had stopped in the road as a truck carrying an oversized load was passing in the westbound lane, police said. An incoming vehicle, driven by Roy Shirley III, 24, of Pottstown, did not see the stopped traffic until the last moment.

Shirley swerved to the right side of the road and crashed into a downed tree before striking two other vehicles and coming to rest against a utility pole, police said.

Shirley was transported via ambulance to the hospital for treatment and is recovering. The drivers of the two other cars that were struck were not injured, police said.

Shirley will be cited with driving his vehicle at an unsafe speed, as well as being held financially responsible for damages in the crash.

North Coventry Police were assisted by Norco Fire Company and Goodwill Ambulance at the scene.
