Police say he was already barred from possessing firearms due to a prior Pottstown gun conviction, raising ongoing concerns about repeat gun offenses tied to the borough.

Decades after church split, two Pennsylvania congregations reunite as one body (roysreport.com) — A long-divided Church of Christ community in Pottstown has reunited, as the former Coventry Hills and Chesmont congregations merge into the new Cornerstone Church of Christ worshiping in the Coventry Hills building. Members describe deep wounds from a 1990s split, but say shared ministries, a permanent home, and renewed focus on unity are bringing healing and new energy to local church life.    

5. World's largest operating steam locomotive coming to Pennsylvania. Where is it stopping? (keystonenewsroom.com) — Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, will roll into the Pottstown Train Station on July 2, arriving at 3:30 p.m. and leaving at 3:45 p.m. The special tour is part of America’s 250th birthday celebration and includes other Pennsylvania stops in Reading, Philadelphia, Altoona, and more throughout June and July.
