• Montgomery County food safety inspections found live roaches and unapproved construction (readingeagle.com) — Recent Montgomery County health inspections turned up several violations at Pottstown eateries, including WQ Diner, Hi Pot, New Very Best Weiner Shop, Teriyaki Bowl & Cocobear, New Peking Gourmet, Mr. Max Bagels, Ice House, and Shinji's Sushi. Issues ranged from missing certified food managers and improper food storage to equipment problems and insect concerns, with some problems fixed immediately and others requiring follow-up by the county.
• Pottstown Education Foundation Benefits from New Directors, Staff (travelswiththepost.com) — Pottstown residents have new voices shaping local education, as three directors and a full-time development manager join the Foundation for Pottstown Education, which supports the borough's schools. The hires include multiple Pottstown High School alumni and longtime district educators, who will help lead fundraising, alumni engagement, and promotion of the Oct. 3 "Night at the Races" at the Carousel at Pottstown.
• MCCC honors the next generation of healthcare leaders in nursing (pottsmerc.com subscription) — Two Pottstown residents, Tyisha Hutchison and William Shukowitsh, are among 29 new nursing graduates honored at Montgomery County Community College's pinning ceremony, marking their entry into the profession. The event celebrated their rigorous training, strong job prospects, and the vital role nurses play in local hospitals and clinics across Montgomery County and the region.
