• First Court Appearance Set For Montco Officer Who Shot, Killed College Baseball Player: DA (patch.com) — Residents in the Pottstown area are watching closely as Upper Pottsgrove Corporal Sean Farrell prepares for his first court appearance Thursday on a voluntary manslaughter charge in the fatal shooting of 22-year-old college baseball player Glen Pysher. The Montgomery County district attorney says body camera footage shows Pysher with his hands raised and unarmed when Farrell opened fire, raising serious questions about police use of force in a nearby neighborhood.
   

• After Five Years, Phoenixville's Sly Fox Brewing Closes Downtown Pittsburgh Location (vista.today) — Sly Fox Brewing has closed its downtown Pittsburgh taphouse but is keeping its Pennsylvania locations open, including the one in Pottstown, where gift cards from the closed site will still be honored. The Phoenixville-based brewery, founded in 1995, is refocusing on its remaining regional taprooms after a seven-year run in Pittsburgh.
