• Following controversy, Pottstown councilman will propose more banners to include veterans of color (cbsnews.com) — Pottstown residents may soon see changes to the Hometown Heroes Banner Program as a councilman plans to propose a committee and add 10 new banners, including some featuring veterans of color. Community leaders, including retired Col. Joseph Brown and the local NAACP, are pressing for more equitable representation that better reflects Pottstown's diverse population ahead of the nation's 250th birthday.
• Pilot hospitalized after crashing World War II-era plane at Pennsylvania airport (washingtontimes.com) — A pilot was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after crashing a World War II–era training plane at Heritage Field Airport in Pottstown. Local firefighters freed the trapped pilot, contained leaking fuel, and coordinated a crane to right the historic aircraft, which has a long service history with European air forces before coming to Pennsylvania.
