NORRISTOWN, PA — A Norristown man will spend more than a decade in state prison after being found guilty of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2019, according to court records.

In June, a jury convicted John Anthony Lasorda, 30, on charges of rape by forcible compulsion, statutory sexual assault of someone 11 years or older, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault without consent, indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age, and other related charges.

A report in the Pottstown Mercury said that the rape happened in April 2019 at Lasorda's Douglass Township home, which was located along Swamp Pike.

Lasorda will have to register as a Tier III sex offender for life under Megan's Law. Rothstein ordered him to have no contact with the victim and undergo psychosexual evaluation.

The Mercury, which cites a police arrest affidavit, said the girl reported that Lasorda forced her onto a couch and sexually assaulted her while she was visiting the home, and that Lasorda also threatened to further harm her if she ever told anyone about the assault.

Patch's Jon Campisi contributed to this report.
