A Montgomery County man had nearly made it home from work to his wife and four children on Monday when tragedy struck. Another vehicle struck his car and then fled the scene just two miles from his home, leaving him dead.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at around 4:43 p.m. on Route 663, authorities said.
William Bender, 38, of East Greenville was coming home from work in southeast Philadelphia, as he did every day, when he was rear-ended near at Northgate Boulevard, near the Northgate development.

The crash sent Bender's car spinning into the oncoming traffic in the opposite lane, where it was struck again by another vehicle.
State police have launched an investigation are searching for the hit and run driver.

Bender leaves behind four children: Logan, Brielle, Hailey, and Alex, as well as his wife Megan. A GoFundMe launched for the family called Bender a "dedicated, loving, fun father" and a "best friend to his wife."
More than $23,000 had been raised for the family through more than 300 donations as of Wednesday morning.
The suspected car was described only as burnt orange or faded red in color, according to 6ABC.
