Breaking: A Pottstown father shot and critically wounded his son after his son attacked him with a sword, police said.

POTTSTOWN, PA — A Pottstown father shot and critically wounded his son after his son attacked him with a sword, police said.

The incident occurred on the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue at around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, according to authorities.

Andrew Lee allegedly attacked his father, Joseph Lee, causing lacerations to his hand. That's when Joseph turned and shot his son multiple times in the chest.

6ABC, citing reports from the scene of the incident, states that Andrew Lee used a katana sword to attack his father.

Andrew Lee was transported to Reading Hospital, where he is in critical condition.
