Pottstown Holding Free Naloxone Give Away Day

In an effort to fight back against opioid overdoses, free naloxone will be given away at an upcoming event.

POTTSTOWN, PA —In an effort to fight back against opioid overdoses, free naloxone will be given away at an upcoming county-organized event.

The distribution and education event will be held on Tuesday, March 5 at Montgomery County College in Pottstown.

Organizers said the initiative is aimed at those who aren't able to get naloxone from the pharmacy, for individuals who have a substance use disorder, and for family and friends of someone in crisis.

Kits include two doses. Everyone who receives a kit will also receive educational materials, instructions on adminstering the drug, and a list of local pharmacies where it is provided.

The event will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. oat the West Campus' South Building community room, located on 101 College Drive.
