Township Official Launches Bid For Montgomery Co. Commissioner

France Krazalkovich is the second local Republican to announce his candidacy for Montgomery County Commissioner in 2019.

UPPER POTTSGROVE, PA — A local Republican official has launched his campaign for Montgomery County Commissioner in 2019.

France Krazalkovich, currently Upper Pottsgrove Commissioner, made the announcement earlier this month.

"It is an honor serving my neighbors in Upper Pottsgrove, and being a local elected official is a job I truly enjoy," Krazalkovich said in his announcement. "The trust consistently placed in me by the community is humbling, and I feel we have made major strides in the last four years. But now we need committed leadership at the county level, and once again I’m ready to serve."

Another Republican, former Plymouth Township Councilman Dean Eisenberger, also announced his candidacy for commissioner in January.

The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners is currently served by two Democrats, Valerie Arkoosh (the chair) and Ken Lawrence Jr., and Republican Joe Gale.

Krazalkovich received an endorsement from State Sen. Bob Mensch.

"France has been a great leader in local government for years, working hard on issues that matter most to his community," Mensch said. "He is smart, energetic and level headed in his approach to government."

Krazalkovich served four years in the US Air Force, worked as a businessman, and was appointed, then elected to the Upper Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners in 2015.

The 2019 primary election in Pennsylvania is May 21, and the general election is Nov. 5.
