YWCA Tri-County Area rally supports Week Without Violence
Community event rallies to end gun violence

Join your neighbors and friends at YWCA Tri-County Area on Thursday, October 17, as we rally in support of an end to gun violence in our communities.
The rally will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in front of YW, 315 King Street, Pottstown. King Street between North Charlotte and North Evans streets, will be closed during the event.
Each October, YWCA associations across the country take part in Week Without Violence to raise awareness about the devastating effects of domestic violence. This year, YWCA Tri-County Area is focusing on an issue closer to home: gun violence. A shared experience across generations, gun violence has impacted countless members of our community. As YW works toward its mission of promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all, it builds an educated community that is safe and peaceful for future generations to thrive and excel. By raising awareness of the impacts that gun violence has had in our own community, we can focus on a better, brighter future for generations to come.
The evening’s activities will include guest speakers, a moment of silence for victims of violence, and a “light up the night” march around the block, where marchers will use their cell phone flashlights to light a beacon of peace and hope.
