RADNOR, PA — Days after a Radnor school aide was arrested on a child sexual assault charge, Radnor's police superintendent encouraged students and parents to report any concerns of possible criminal activity.

Michael Robinson, 43, worked as a paraprofessional at Radnor Middle School. He was wanted for sexually assaulting a child in Texas, authorities said.

A U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force arrested Robinson about a block away from the school Thursday morning.

"Following the arrest of Michael Robinson, a former paraprofessional with the Radnor Township School District, we recognize that this is deeply concerning and unsettling for our families and neighbors.

We understand that news of the charge may raise concerns among parents, students, and our entire community. We encourage any student or parent with concerns of possible criminal activity to contact the Radnor Township Police Department at 610-688-5606.

Additionally, the Community Support Unit and Police Social Worker, Isabel Cook, LCSW, is available as a resource for families seeking guidance on how to speak with their children or who would like to access counseling services."

Shortly after the incident, the Radnor Township School District said Robinson was placed on leave and will not have contact with students.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Robinson is still an RTSD employee. Patch contacted a district spokesperson and will update as more information becomes available.

In August 2024, Robinson traveled to Tyler, Texas, to sexually assault a child he met online over the course of a weekend, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

This past December, the Smith County (Texas) District Attorney's Office indicted Robinson, charging him with aggravated sexual assault of a child under 15. He was wanted as a fugitive by the Tyler Police Department.

Investigators later discovered that Robinson worked as a paraprofessional for Radnor Middle School. He was arrested around 7:30 a.m. Thursday on the 200 block of Windermere Avenue — down the street from the school.

Robinson is being held at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility in Delaware County, awaiting extradition to Texas.

After Robinson's arrest, the RTSD said he was placed on leave and will not have contact with students. When he was hired, all required background checks were completed, according to district officials.

"Student safety is our top priority," the district said.

The district said it is cooperating with law enforcement, and there is no information indicating any misconduct involving district students.

Families of children to whom Robinson was assigned were contacted by district administration.
