Alleged Radnor Car Thieves Hit With Hundreds Of Charges

Three men from the Washington DC area were arrested Wednesday after allegedly stealing a car from a Radnor home.

RADNOR, PA – The three men who were arrested and accused of stealing a car Wednesday morning in Radnor Township have been hit with hundreds of charges in connection with the vehicle theft, according to court records.

The three men – Ronnie Savonnie Hawkins, 20 of Washington DC; Sofonias Assefa Goshu 24, of Arlington, Virginia; and Jonathan Anane Cargill, 21 of Silver Spring, Maryland – are all behind bars after failing to post bail which was set at $200,000 each Wednesday, court records show.

Cargill and Hawkins have been hit with 283 charges total, while Goshu faces 229.

Charges include felon theft by unlawful taking; felon receiving stolen property; unauthorized use of a motor vehicles; theft from a motor vehicle; loitering and prowling at night; defiant trespassing; possession of an instrument of crime; and numerous conspiracy to commit crime charges, according to court records.

All three are slated to appear for preliminary hearings on Aug. 10 in a Delaware County court.

According to police, an Audi with a key left in the cup holder was stolen from a home on the 200 block of South Spring Mill Road in the Villanova section early Wednesday, police said.

Police later recovered the vehicle in Newtown Square and arrested three people in connection with the theft.

When they found the vehicle, police said it appeared to have items from other residential properties inside it.

Police said residents should check their vehicles and properties to see if anything is missing or if they have been entered.
