PLAN of PA—which provides Care Management and Financial Services to adults with special needs—recently honored Jeannie Parisi, who retired as a member of the Board of Directors after 12 years of distinguished service.
PLAN of PA Board Chairman Len Smiley spoke of Jeannie’s numerous contributions to PLAN during a celebration on July 18 at the Wayne Presbyterian Church. “Jeannie, you have done so much to further awareness of PLAN and its mission these last 12 years,” said Smiley. “The Board of Directors wishes to thank you for your commitment and dedication—and present you with a gift as a token of our appreciation.”
Smiley, along with PLAN of PA Executive Director Ginny Koehler, then presented Parisi with a Waterford crystal vase.

Parisi, who resides in Wayne, joined the Board at the recommendation of a friend, Sue Dewis, who was already on the PLAN Board. “I was telling her about PLAN of PA because I was very involved with a fundraising event,” said Dewis. “She was interested in learning about PLAN and became genuinely interested in PLAN’s mission. We continued to talk about the organization, and Jeannie agreed to join the Board in 2000.”
During her time as a Board of Director, Parisi held two officers positions: She was Secretary from 2001-2003 and President from 2004-2007. Parisi also was an active fundraiser for the non-profit social service agency and served for many years on PLAN’s Newsletter Committee.
