Seventeen other students at Radnor Middle School have been confirmed to have scabies, as well.

Radnor Township School District custodians have been applying an electrostatic disinfectant in classrooms to prevent any potential spread. The electrostatic disinfectant is a safe spray that is used for infection control and to eliminate the spread of viruses, officials said.

"We are asking your cooperation in reinforcing to your children the importance of following these measures at school," Stevenson's letter said. "Please notify our nurses if your child is confirmed to have scabies so we can monitor the spread within our school. "
