Dryer Fire Damages Tredyffrin Township Home Monday

Tredyffrin Township Police officers arrived on scene first. They evacuated those inside and beat back the blaze with a fire extinguisher.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA – A fire broke out in a Tredyffrin Township home Monday and the cause stemmed from a dryer, according to police and fire officials.

Tredyffrin Township Police and the Paoli Fire Company responded to a home on the 100 block of Sheldrake Drive in the Paoli section of the township at about 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18 for a report of a dryer fire.

Police quickly evacuated the homeowner and then knocked back the fire with a fire extinguisher before fire crews took over the fight, according to police.

Crews from Berywn and Malvern fire companies also responded to assist on scene.

The fire was under control in about 30 minutes and the scene was cleared at about 3 p.m., according to the Berwyn Fire Company.

The damage was limited to the home's laundry room with minimal smoke and water damage in other areas of the home, police said.

There were no reported injuries.
