Grab & Go Kids Planner: Story Times, Art, Drama, Flowers and a Leprechaun Hunt

Take advantage of fun events for all ages happening locally this week. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a Borders story time or a Narberth Leprechaun Hunt. Broaden your child's horizons with a Spanish story time at the library, a creative Main Line Art Center project, or a drama production at Delaware County Christian. SPANISH STORYTIMES FOR CHILDREN

Where/When:  at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16.
Why Go: Experience the Spanish language through the fun and distinctive teaching methodology of Marcella Summerville, the director and founder of the Spanish Workshop for Children. Storytimes are geared for ages 3 through 5. Pricing: Free, registration required and space is limited.


STORY TIME AND CRAFTS 

Where/When: Borders at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
Why Go: Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a themed story time followed by craft activities. Head up to the café afterward for an afternoon coffee or snack.
Pricing: Free.


FUNNY FAMILY MOBILES

Where/When: Main Line Art Center at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go: Create your own mobile with fun pictures of each family member-- even pets-- made using illustration and mixed media materials. The one-day class is for ages 5 and up with caregiver.
Pricing: $15 for members, $25 for nonmembers; covers 1 child-adult pair.


BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Where/When:  at 7:30 on Friday and Saturday nights and also at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go: See the classic Disney fairy tale presented in real life and on stage by the talented high school drama department.
Pricing: $8 to $12 per person.

GREAT NARBERTH LEPRECHAUN HUNT

Where/When: Corner of Forrest Ave. and Haverford Ave. in Downtown Narberth from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go: For this Narberth favorite, families scour the downtown on a scavenger hunt in search of leprechauns and their gold (chocolate) coins. Kids finding all nine leprechauns get to return to the start for a special prize.
Pricing: Free.


FAMILY NIGHT AT THE PHILADELPHIA FLOWER SHOW

Where/When: Pennsylvania Convention Center Family Lounge from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Why Go: Be transported to elegant and romantic scenes of Paris through world-class presentations of Parisian parks, gardens and attractions in full bloom. Then visit the family lounge for garden crafts, face painting, a photo station and more, and watch French singer Ruthanne Emilene Ankney performing with marionettes.
Pricing: Free with admission.
