Holiday Events To Impact Radnor-Area Traffic This Weekend

Carriage Rides, the Wayne Tree Lighting, the Elves for Shelves 5K​, Santa's Parade, and Santa's Delivery will affect roads this weekend.

RADNOR, PA — Several holiday events in Radnor Township will lead to traffic impacts this week, township officials said.

This weekend's events — Carriage Rides in Wayne, the Wayne Tree Lighting, Radnor Memorial Library Elves for Shelves 5K, Santa's Parade, and Santa's Delivery — will affect several roads.

Radnor Police will be on hand to help with traffic safety through the weekend.

Carriage rides will begin at 4 p.m. Friday and affect South Wayne, Audubon, Lansdowne, Runnymede, and Windermere avenues.

The three lighting will take place at 6 p.m.

North Wayne, West Avenue, and Station Road will be affected by the event. Additionally, parking will be restricted on North Wayne Avenue before and during the tree lighting.

Then at 8 a.m. on Saturday, the Radnor Memorial Library Elves for Shelves 5K, Fun Run and Move-A-Thon will take place.

The Santa Parade will then be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.

It will begin in the 300 block of East Lancaster Avenue and will travel in the westbound lanes. The Parade will then make a right onto North Wayne Avenue and end on Station Road.

Roads are expected to reopen by 11 a.m.

Lastly, Santa's Delivery will take place from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday and will affect all township roads.

Be on the lookout for lights and sirens as Santa makes his way throughout Radnor.

Santa's Delivery will impact the entire township and will include multiple caravans of fire trucks, police cars and other emergency vehicles.
