MindMatters Presentation Set at Wayne Senior Center

"Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure: The Greatest Survival Story of All Time."

Regular visitors as well as guests are invited to the Wayne Senior Center on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 10:00 am, for a free MindMatters presentation titled “Shackleton’s Antarctic Adventure: The Greatest Survival Story of All Time.” The hour-long video presentation will be streamed over high-speed internet by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging and feature Lou Thieblemont, a professional speaker, amateur historian and former mayor of Camp Hill, PA.

The presentation takes viewers back to 1914, when Sir Ernest Schackleton and his men embarked on a daring and ground-breaking expedition and his group faced a harsh, frigid environment, defying the odds to survive largely through sheer perseverance. Following the presentation, a live question-and-answer session will allow attendees the opportunity to submit questions to Thieblemont for real-time video discussion.
