PHOTOS: Radnor High School to Present 'The Sound of Music'

See Radnor's production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic March 5 to 7.

The halls will be alive with the sound of music during Radnor High School’s production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s enduring classic “The Sound of Music” from March 5-7. The show will be directed by Cal Brakin, with musical direction from RHS choral director Bruce Glenny and choreography by Dawn Morningstar.

Featuring many familiar songs, including “Do, Re, Mi,” “My Favorite Things” and “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” this final collaboration between Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein is widely recognized as their most powerful and successful, culminating in the classic movie rendition in 1965.

“This is a very exciting time for us here at Radnor,” said Glenny. “’The Sound of Music’ is a gem and our students are working hard to produce a truly superior show.”

The talented cast includes Olivia Rooney and Sarah Sobel as Maria Reiner; Tyler McDowell and Brendan Desanto as Captain von Trapp; Anna Perez and Abrah Katzman as Mother Abbess; and Alexa DiGiovanni and Cassie Rosin as Elsa Schrader.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7. There will also be a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Saturday. All performances will be in the RHS auditorium (130 King of Prussia Rd., Radnor).
