Planned Radnor Bridge Not Compliant With Disabilities Act: Report

A proposed bridge over Lancaster Avenue near Villanova is reportedly not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

A proposed bridge over Lancaster Avenue near Villanova is reportedly not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), according to a Main Line Media News report.

The hitch could derail the proposed construction of six new dormitories at Villanova that would house over 1,000 students, the report states.

“Everybody has to have the same access to the maximum extent feasible,” township traffic engineer Amy Kaminski told Main Line Media. “To build that staircase without a way for the disabled to get onto to the ramp is not permitted under the ADA, she said. “You’re denying access to those in wheelchairs.”
