Pot Brownies Sicken Teens At Radnor High Pep Rally: Reports

Marijuana-laced brownies may have been served at a school pep rally in Radnor, multiple sources are reporting.

RADNOR, PA — Marijuana-laced brownies may have been served at a school pep rally in Radnor, Radnor Police said.

Police learned of the potentially laced brownie Thursday night when they responded to a the Bryn Mawr Hospital emergency room for an unrelated incident.

Radnor Police Lt. Shawn Dietrich said a parent approached officers in the ER, saying some kids were sick to do an overdose of an unknown substance.

Police said the brownies were reportedly purchased at a pep rally at Radnor High School Thursday.

At least six students were hospitalized after becoming ill, Action News reports.

Police said one of the brownies was taken as evidence and will be tested to determine what could have sickened the kids.

CBS Philly said the brownie was placed in an evidence bag that said "pot."

The school notified parents of the incident.

Radnor High School principal Dan Bechtold, in a phone message to parents, said a “limited number of students that knowingly ingested marijuana laced brownies at events held on school grounds," Philly.com reported.

“It could be marijuana it could be something more serious or it could be nothing at all,” Dietrich told the network.

It is not clear who brought the brownies to the event, or if any charges will be filed.

Police said Radnor Township School District, and Radnor Police, have conducted interviews are part of the ongoing investigation.
