This inspiring coming-of-age tale is based on the Broadway production directed by Julie Taymor and the 1994 animated film, the district said.

The show will feature famous songs written by Elton John and Tim Rice for the original film, including "Circle of Life," "I Just Can't Wait to be King," "Hakuna Matata," and the Oscar-winning "Can You Feel the Love Tonight."

Not only will students perform those famous songs, they will also perform in several African languages, including Swahili and Zulu, the district said.

While admission is free for all performances, donations are accepted at the door.
