Three Radnor High School students won awards in the 2016 Congressional Art Contest in Pennsylvania's 7th District.

Three Radnor High School students won awards in the 2016 Congressional Art Contest in Pennsylvania's 7th District, the district announced Wednesday.
The contest was hosted by Congressman Patrick Meehan.
"Chanticleer Ruins" by Liam Gorman was awarded first place in the Mixed-Media category; "Chanticleer Garden" by Judy Zhang was awarded first place in the Colored Drawing category; and "Chill Out" by Katherine Hung was awarded first place in the Oil/Acrylic Painting category.

Students Neena Batliwala, Yi Cai, Ryan Conklyn, Amanda Davis, Emily Goldman and Ethan Lee also participated in the 2016 Congressional Art Contest.
The competition was held exclusively for students residing and attending high school in Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District. Members of the U.S. House of Representatives from across the nation offer this same opportunity to students living and attending high schools in their districts, according to information from the Radnor Township School District.

The best piece from each of these congressional shows, named "Best in Show" by a panel of local art experts, is displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, the district said.
This year, 125 pieces of art were submitted for participation in the 7th District's show.
This year's "Best in Show" winner was from Twin Valley High School in Elverson.
