Radnor Murder-Suicide Killer Sought Marriage Help: Report

Jennair Gerardot reportedly asked neighbors for help finding a marriage counselor and a divorce lawyer before the murder-suicide in Radnor.

RADNOR, PA – Before Jennair Gerardot killed Meredith Chapman and herself inside a Radnor Township home Monday, she took to a neighborhood social media site to ask for help with her marriage, according to a report by the Inquirer.

Gerardot, 47, killed Chapman, 33, the evening of Monday, April 23 in Chapman's Lowrys Lane home in Radnor's Rosemont section in what authorities believe was a calculated attack stemming from an affair between Chapman and Gerardot's husband, Mark Gerardot.

A new report from Philly.com says before the killing, Gerardot visited the neighborhood social media site NextDoor pleading for marriage help.

"I just transferred to Delaware in December for my Husband’s new job, and he’s telling me he wants a divorce I don’t know anyone and am completely clueless to the area," Gerardot wrote on the site, according to Philly.com. "Can someone please recommend a reputable and successful and driven divorce attorney?"

Later, Gerardot took to the site again, soliciting recommendations for a marriage counselor.

"Please recommend an EXCELLENT marriage counselor for couple on brink of divorce," she wrote on the site. "We will need someone who is very educated and experienced dealing with couples issues including infidelity, depression, traumatic experiences, child/parent dynamics, being accountable for actions, etc."

Radnor Police found Gerardot and Chapman's bodies inside Chapman's home Monday evening.

Police said Wednesday that Gerardot drove a rental car to Radnor from Delaware, broke into Chapman's home, hid the evidence of the break in, then shot Chapman in the head with a .357 revolver before turning the gun on herself.

A bag with a wig and clothes were found inside the home, which police said may have been used by Gerardot as a disguise.

When police arrived at the scene at about 7:10 p.m. Monday, they found Mark Gerardot outside the house telling police he believed his wife was inside.

Radnor Police Superintendent William Colarulo said at a press conference Tuesday that they believe Mark Gerardot was in Radnor to meet Chapman for dinner, but went to her home when she did not show up.

He said emails and text messages indicate Jennair Gerardot had planned the killing.
