Radnor Police Warning Residents Of High-End Vehicle Thefts

High-end vehicles became targets for criminals starting in 2016, police said.

Radnor Township Police are warning residents in the township of high-end vehicle thefts that cropped in in 2016.

Police said most of the vehicles stolen, primarily Land Rovers and Mercedes Benz vehicles, had keys left inside them.

In other instances, police said suspects used garage door openers in unlocked vehicles to gain access to residences, where suspects take car keys to steal the vehicles, police said.

Police are urging residents to lock vehicles, doors, and windows when vehicles or the home is not attended, as well as to activate home alarm systems where possible. Police also urge residents not to leave keys or other valuables in their vehicles.

Another measure police are urging residents to take is to activate GPS location services in vehicles where possible. In most cases, this needs to be done by the vehicle owner while inside the vehicle in order for the vehicle to be located at a later time, police said.
