Trains Collide In Delaware County
Two CSX employees were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Two trains collided in Chester Township Friday morning, according to CSX Transportation officials.
Officials said the trains collided at about 8:25 a.m. at a track interlocking between Kerlin Street and Concord Road in Chester Township.
Two CSX employees were taken to a local hospital for medical attention, but the company is not releasing names or conditions for privacy reasons, officials said.

One of the trains was heading north from Richmond, Virginia, to Pavonia rail yard in Camden,, New Jersey, and was carrying 64 empty freight cars and three locomotives, officials said. The other train was heading south from Quebec, Canada, to Atlanta with one locomotive and eight intermodal cars carrying consumer goods and food products, officials said.
"CSX appreciates the swift response of the Chester Township Fire Department and other area first responders today, and for their continued support as we have worked to restore the scene of the incident," CSX said in a statement. "We apologize to area residents for any inconvenience that this incident may have caused. The safety of our employees and the communities where we operate is CSX’s highest priority, and our goal is to deliver every shipment of freight entrusted to us safely to its intended destination."
