Villanova-Bound Valedictorian Finishes Speech On Jimmy Kimmel
The future Wildcat finished his speech in front of a larger audience than he, or his school district, could have ever imagined.
VILLANOVA, PA – Villanova University will have a minor celebrity coming to its campus in the fall, as Peter Butera, the Pennsylvania high school valedictorian whose speech was cut short after criticizing district officials, went on national TV to finish his remarks.
Butera, who will attend Villanova in the fall, was silenced after calling some of the Wyoming Area School District's teachers, administration, and board members "authoritative."
After footage of his speech being cut short blew up on the internet, a very outspoken TV host invited the 18 year old to finish his remarks for an audience of millions.

Jimmy Kimmel invited Butera to close out his speech on his late night program Tuesday evening.
Butera told Kimmel – and Kimmel's massive audience – that he digressed from the speech he provided district officials ahead of time, which echoes what officials said regarding the mic being cut.

Why did he go off course?
"I knew they wouldn't let me say what I wanted to say," Butera told Kimmel Tuesday night.
Butera said his parents were proud of him for speaking out.
Then Kimmel gave the outspoken grad a platform to finish his speech and to shout out Villanova.
