West Nile Found In Radnor Township Mosquito Sample

Pennsylvania officials said a mosquito sample collected recently in Radnor Township tested positive for West Nile Virus.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA – A mosquito has tested positive for West Nile Virus in Radnor Township along with several other samples collected in the Main Line area.

Pennsylvania officials said the positive sample was collected on Monday, July 16.

Samples collected in Tredyffrin and Easttown Monday also tested positive.

2018 has been a comparatively quiet summer for West Nile Virus in the county thus far.

The risk of being infected with West Nile from a mosquito is very low, officials said, but residents are still urged to take simple precautions, like using repellent and removing standing water from their property.

West Nile Virus typically causes fever but can lead to neurological illness in extremely rare cases.
