1 Dead After North Philadelphia Hit And Run: Police

PHILADELPHIA – A 50-year-old man is dead after being hit by a vehicle that fled the scene after striking the man, Philadelphia Police said.

According to police, the man was hit at 9:36 a.m. at Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue.

The man was his in the northbound lanes of Broad Street, police said.

He was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:08 a.m., according to police.

CBS Philadelphia reports the driver fled the scene but was later caught by police.

Police have not identified the victim or the driver.
