2016 Year In Review: Roxborough Girl, 12, Earns Role In Walnut Street Theatre's 'Wizard of Oz'

ROXBOROUGH, PA -- A Roxborough girl has earned a role in the ongoing production of The Wizard of Oz at Philadelphia's famed Walnut Street Theatre.
Sophia Henkel, a sixth grader at St. Philip Neri School and Roxborough native, is playing a Munchkin in all weekend performances of the production, according to the theatre.

Henkel has been acting since she was four. She has previously performed at Walnut Street productions of Mary Poppins and The Wizard of Oz.
Henkel is a member of the Theatre School at Walnut Street Theatre, along with all of her 29 Munchkin cast-mates.
