4 Manayunk Lots Dropping Parking Prices In April
A new program will also give shoppers parking vouchers for their next visit to Manayunk.

Four parking lots in Manayunk will be lowering their parking fees in April, something drivers in the area should be quite happy about.
Four off-street parking lots operated by Manayunk Development Corporation’s (MDC) partner, ParkWay Corporation, will have lower rates for Manayunk visitors, according to a press release.
“Customers of our lots will key in their license plate number, select how much time they want to purchase, pay with a credit or debit card, and go,” said Jane Lipton, Executive Director of MDC, in a press release. “The old equipment required customers to find a parking spot, walk to a pay station to pay, and then walk back to their car to place a receipt on their dashboard.”

The following lots will see the changes:
- 114 Green Lane
- 108 Levering St.
- Venice Island, 7 Lock St.
- 4000 Main St.
The Venice Island and Levering Street lots will cost $2 per hour during weekdays, the release said.

Drivers can park at the 4000 Main St. lot for $2 per hour on weekends and weekdays after 5 p.m.
The Green Lane parking lot will cost just $1 per hour.
Those looking to park in the mentioned lots will also be able to extend their time using their smartphones and get texts telling them when time is about to expire.
"With the old machines, you had to walk back to the lot to purchase more time and get a new receipt for the dashboard," Lipton said in a press release. "I knew we could do better."
A new Parking Loyalty Program will be rolling out soon, too, the press release said.
Participating businesses will offer customers a parking validation coupon to be used on a return visit, the press release said.
Individual merchants will have three different values of coupons to offer customers: $2, $4, or $8 depending on the expected length of their customers stay. Each coupon will have a unique, one-time use code and will not expire, the press release said
“Essentially, we’re saying, ‘The next time you’re in Manayunk, parking is on us,’” Lipton said in the press release. “It lets our customers know we care about their experience and value their business.”
