A team of three ballet dancers from Japan will perform a short classical ballet recital and offer a seated ballet lesson to residents at The Village at Rockville — Lutheran Community in Maryland.
The recital to demonstrate ballet movements and seated ballet lesson will take place at The Village at Rockville at 9701 Veirs Drive, Rockville, MD, 20850, on July 8 (Tue), 2014, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Lang Hall. The recital will be performed by three dancers from Japan followed by a seated ballet lesson for those using wheelchairs. Taking pictures of the performers is welcome. Taking pictures of residents is not permitted in order to protect residents’ privacy.
Participants will be able to watch and follow along as the ballet dancers perform in front of them. This is an opportunity to experience the beauty and joy of dancing. This event is only offered once to the residents at The Village at Rockville. If continued, however, expected outcomes include a straighter back, improved core strength, stronger muscles, and smoother motor nerve coordination between the brain and limbs. SAY hopes Ageless Ballet will gain popularity throughout the US.
