Bill Clinton to Speak at Katz's Memorial Service

The service is Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Temple University and will be streamed live on numerous websites.

Former President Bill Clinton is among the speakers who will pay tribute to Lewis Katz at a memorial service Wednesday at Temple University. Katz, 72, co-owner of the Philadelphia Inquirer, died Saturday when his private plane crashed in Massachusetts. 

Katz graduated from Temple in 1963 and was the university’s most generous donor, recently pledging $25 million, Philly.com reported.

Other speakers at the memorial service will include Gov. Corbett, former Gov. Ed Rendell, Bill Cosby, Mayor Nutter, New Jersey Sen. Cory A. Booker, and Inquirer editor William K. Marimow, Philly.com reported.

The service begins at 11 a.m. and will be streamed live on Temple's website, www.temple.edu. It will also be streamed on the following websites:

Seven people were killed when Katz’s private plane crashed while taking off in Bedford, Mass. The plane was returning home to New Jersey when the plane crashed at around 9:40 p.m. National Transportation Safety Board Officials are handling the investigation into what caused the crash.
