A Bit Of Broadway In Manayunk

While Philadelphia isn't that far from New York, it can be tough to make it to the Big Apple, especially for hit Broadway shows where tickets can be wallet busters. With travel, tickets, meals, lodging, the hike can be arduous.

Luckily, Broadway is coming to Manayunk Monday, May 1.

The Venice Island Performing Arts and Recreation Center at 7 Lock St., Philadelphia will host a one-night-only salute to Broadway performance.

"The Summer Club Salutes Broadway" show will be held once at 8 p.m., Monday May 1 at the Venice Island Performing Arts and Recreation Center.

Tickets are $35 a pop and available online here.

You won't want to miss the cast and 17-member big band performing songs from shows such as

"Guys and Dolls," "Camelot," "The Music Man," "Jersey Boys," "The Life," and "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels."

The show will star Jeff Coon, Michael Philip O'Brien, JP Dunphy, Fran Prisco, and Rachel Brennan.
