7 Best Micro/Craft Breweries In Our Area

Beer—it's a wonderful thing. Our area has one of the best micro/craft beer cultures in the world (don't buy the nonsense of European beers being superior—they are better than BudMillerCoors, but our micro/craft beers rival and best any beer in the world). I'm a beer guy. It's kind of what I do. To that end, my top-7 micro/craft breweries in our area. 

And yeah, it's in order, by my personal preference. 

And, yeah, no disrespect to Joe Sixpack.

The area, roughly, of the mid-Atlantic United States.

#1 Dogfish Head—Always willing to take a risk and challenge your tastes - yet with a reliable stable of just damn good, high-quality beers.  The best brewer in the region, and one of the best in the world.

#2 Brewery Ommegang—Yeah, perhaps it's a reach considering this in our region (Cooperstown NY for those who haven't yet had the pleasure), but no where in the US brews Belgian-style beers as well. 

#3 Victory Brewing—Challenging beers that consistently please the palate without completely breaking the bank. 

#4 Nodding Head—Best brewer in the city - great beer, great atmosphere...damn good stuff.

#5 Weyerbacher Brewing—Not the most challenging, but hits the mark every time with good sturdy classics.

#6 Sly Fox—Adventurous and affordable, high quality suds IN CANS! 

#7 Troegs—Another affordable, high-quality brewery that sticks the classics, and occasionally hits the mark on their non-traditional beers.
