Five inexpensive things you can do this weekend to prepare your home for sale before Nationwide Open House Weekend.

If you're considering selling your home, you're just in time to have it ready for Nationwide Open House Weekend. On June 4 to 5, Realtors throughout the country are encouraged to hold open houses. This will be a tremendous opportunity to expose your home to potential buyers who are interested in buying here in the Manayunk/Roxborough area.

Many sellers take about two weeks to prepare their home for sale. By starting the preparations this weekend, you can have your home ready for showings when this event takes place.

Here are five inexpensive things that you can do this weekend to start getting your home ready to put on the market:

  1. Remove clutter
  2. Wash windows
  3. Clean walls, or even better re-paint with neutral colors
  4. Make minor repairs (fix leaky faucets, fix sticky doors, replace broken screens on storm doors)
  5. Replace worn numbers on your home and mailbox
