Brewpub Proposed For Ridge Ave. In Roxborough

ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA – Ridge Avenue in Roxborough could see a new restaurant and brewery if a proposal from the Roxborough Development Corporation's goes through.

The proposal includes renovating the former carpet gallery located at 6168 Ridge Ave., and building a roughly 500-square-foot addition to house brewing equipment.

However, for the proposal to move forward the Roxborough Development Corporation (RDC) will have to be granted zoning exceptions, according to the RDC.

To construct the added space, the RDC will request a variance from the city's Zoning Board of Adjustment. A public hearing on the variance will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 16, 1515 Arch Street 18th Floor, Philadelphia.

The proposed brewpub is the result of a community survey done by the RDC. One of the main answers respondents gave for desired businesses was a brewpub, according to the RDC.
