Church Burglar Sought By Philadelphia Police

Police said the man broke into a Strawberry Mansion church by smashing a stained-glass window.

PHILADELPHIA – A man broke into a Strawberry Mansion-area church in late July and now Philadelphia Police are looking for the man.

Police said the break-in happened at about 11:45 p.m. on July 31 at the First Church Worship Center located at 2509 N. 30th St.

The man got inside the church by breaking a stained-glass window and then when in an out of offices, police said.

He was seen leaving the church with a red duffel bag and heading in an unknown direction, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man 40 to 40 years old with a beard and mustache. He was wearing a Jeff cap, a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, dark shoes. He has a cut on his right hand, police said.
