Democratic National Convention Seeking 10,000 Volunteers In Philadelphia

The Democratic nominee for president will be chosen in Philadelphia at the convention this summer. And they're looking for some help.

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- The Democratic nominee for president of the United States will be chosen in Philadelphia at the national convention this summer. And they're looking for some help.

In fact, 10,000 volunteers worth of help.

About 7,000 of those positions have already been filled, and the DNC says it is well ahead of its goal schedule.

“Such unprecedented interest in volunteering for the DNC speaks volumes to the fact that Philadelphians are excited about this event and committed to making their city shine,” Kevin Washo, Executive Director of the Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee, said in a statement. “Locally, this Convention is about celebrating Philadelphia and the people and places that make it great. We still have a lot of work to do and look forward to continuing to build a volunteers corps that represents the makeup of Philadelphia and helps us make this the most successful Convention yet.”

Volunteering opportunities range from greeters and guides to administrative personnel, support of delegates, press management, social media storytelling, and more.

The Democratic National Convention is in town from July 25 through July 28.
