Dragon Boat Fest Closing Kelly Drive Saturday: Police
While the Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival brings boat races to the river, Kelly Drive traffic will be affected by the event.
PHILADELPHIA – As Philadelphia hosts the annual Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival this weekend on the Schuylkill River, traffic on Kelly Drive will be affected much of Saturday.
According to Philadelphia Police, Kelly Drive will close from 4:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 to accommodate the boat-racing festival.
Police said the road will be closed between the Strawberry Mansion Bridge and Fountain Green Drive.

Motorists heading south on Kelly will be detoured up the Strawberry Mansion ramp to Fountain Green Drive, via Reservoir Drive.
When heading north, motorists will be detoured up Fountain Green Drive, along the same route.

Sufficient detour signage will be posted along the detour routes and police said delays will be minimal during the closure.
