Manayunk-Roxborough Art Center Opening Reception

A native Philadelphian, artist R.L. (Bob) Borucki’s colorful, illustrative works strike a subtle balance between Jungian archetype and what can only be described as a child’s closet full of whimsy. The monsters and creatures that inhabit fairytales and Sunday comics come to life in his surreal ink-and-gouache paintings with a wonderful fluidity.

In May Borucki will be the featured artist at the Manayunk-Roxborough Art Center (MRAC) in an exhibit titled, “Expressions”, that will showcase over 40 artworks created from 2005 to the present. Work in various styles and media by members of the Manayunk-Roxborough Artists’ Co-Op will also be on exhibit and for sale. The public is invited to partake of light refreshments and meet the artists at the opening reception for this show on Sunday, May 6, 2012 from noon to 3:00 P.M. MRAC is located at 419 Green Lane (rear, past the lavender gate), Philadelphia, PA 19128. For more information, phone 215-482-3363.
