Free Tacos at Manayunk's Union Taco on Friday

MANAYUNK, PA -- A local Mexican eatery is celebrating the holiday season by holding a food drive and providing free delicious tacos at the same time. If you donate a canned good, you can get a free taco at Manayunk's Union Taco on Friday, December 23, between noon and 3 p.m.

The free tacos are Pork Carnitas, which include braised and shredded pork, chipotle BBQ sauce, Mahón cheese, avocado, and crema, according to a press release. They are regularly priced at $4 apiece.

"We are very thankful for the support of our customers, and we are excited to give them the guft of a complimentary taco," said Chef Nick Farina. "Many people's holiday vacation starts that Friday, so we're hoping taco lovers begin the holiday weekend by visiting either of our locations for some free tacos and other delicious Mexican treats. Our Pork Carnitas are our top selling menu item, and they have been since we opened. The ingredients also happen to be red, white and green, and when we were considering what to give our customers as a thank you gift, our best selling menu item that happens to match the Christmas color scheme seemed like a natural choice.”

Farina added that he will match all canned good donations.

Union Taco is located at 4229 Main Street in Manayunk.
